Are There Rules About What Earrings You Should Wear?
One of my clients asked me recently if there were any fashion rules about what earrings she should wear to flatter her face shape so I thought I'd put together a blog post with a few of my suggestions. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of pushing "rules" because I truly believe that any earring style can look great on every face shape if you know how to put the rest of your outfit together well, however after working with thousands of women, I do understand that in a sea of overwhelm, it's often nice just to be pointed in the right direction and this is what I'm hoping to do here. Please don't feel like you have to be really strict with this though because being too restricted by rules can stop you from trying new & exciting things. Instead, use this as a starting point to build your confidence when it comes to wearing accessories and branch out from there.
The general rule of thumb when it comes to earrings, is not to mimic the shape of your face. So if you have a square face shape, ideally you'd try and avoid wearing square earrings because this would emphasise your face shape in a glaringly obvious way. The aim is to draw attention to your face but in a subtle way that doesn't scream - look at my square face, if that makes sense?! So let's get started by first working out what face shape you have and I've created a flowchart for you below to help with this -
